Laurie DeLong, Student Services/Early Learning We would like to pass along a grant opportunity to assist a parents in getting an iPad for their special needs child. If your child with autism is age 0-22, and in need of an iPad, apply at www.itaalk.org. If your child is under 23 years old and has Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and other disabilities (including but not limited to sensory processing disorder, anxiety, epilepsy, non-specific learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, autism, Tourette syndrome, and other s p e e c h / l a n g u a g e d i s o r d e r s ) , g o to www.nwoapraxiasupport.org. Recipients will be notified by the end of September. These organizations are not affiliated with Wayne Trace Local Schools.  We are offering an Early Childhood Screening for children from ages birth through 5 in the areas of vision, hearing, speech, and development. The date is September 6, 2019 at St. James Lutheran Church at  500 West Townline in Payne from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM, and at Zion United Methodist Church at 204 South Harrison Street in Grover Hill from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.  To schedule an appointment, you may call Amy at 419-587-3414 ext. 309, or email anoggle@wbesc.org. For additional information regarding special needs programs, psychologists, therapists (speech, occupational, physical, vision), nursing, parent mentor, and preschool, please call the district's special education office.
