Our Parent Mentor program will be holding two free COFFEE& DESSERT parent/professional trainings in April and May. On April 25, 2019 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at the Wayne Trace JH/HS Lecture Hall 4915 US 127 Haviland, Ashlen Glenn, LPC, CTP from Westwood Behavioral Health Center will be presenting “TraumaInformed Care: Exploring the Effects of Trauma and How to Promote Resiliency”. This training will cover trauma’s effect on the brain, symptoms of trauma, and how to support the child in the home and school environments. The second training is May 16, 2019 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm and will present “Human Trafficking 101” focusing on recognizing, responding, and the intellectually/developmentally disabled at-risk population. The location is Black Swamp Nature Center at 753 Fairground Drive, Paulding. Presenters will be Steve Mentrek, Bittersweet Farms, Pat Stephens, Lucas County Board of DD, and Cathy Ruiz, Certified Human Trafficking Trainer.
